The House of ºìÌÒÊÓÆµ Game Show Gala is produced by ºìÌÒÊÓÆµOne Des Moines Foundation and is a fun-spirited game show-style fundraiser for , one of Iowa’s largest and most comprehensive providers of vital services for persons with substance use disorders, especially parenting women with children.
The 2019 ºìÌÒÊÓÆµOne House of ºìÌÒÊÓÆµ Game Show Gala raised a record-breaking grand total of $502,055, a more than 40% increase in revenue from the 2018 event, the ºìÌÒÊÓÆµOne Des Moines Foundation announced. Four teams of six played through three rounds of games, including Family Feud, in front of more than 750 attendees, including 338 contributors and sponsors. Attendees could donate in advance to the four teams representing a House of ºìÌÒÊÓÆµ client in the areas of mental health, alcohol use disorder, methamphetamine use disorder and childhood trauma. Team Abby, representing mental health, won, with $47,215 pledged.
offers vital substance-related/addictive disorders treatment and mental health programs to individuals and families that have experienced difficulty in accessing these critical services and supports. Specific services provided by the House of ºìÌÒÊÓÆµ include: Behavioral Health Intervention Services (BHIS); outpatient mental health counseling (e.g., individual, group, relationship, trauma, and family therapy); addiction counseling services (e.g., substance abuse assessments, primary treatment, relapse prevention education, individual/group counseling, aftercare support, twelve-step meetings, etc.); homeless outreach addiction assessment, education, treatment, and case management services; student assistance assessment and treatment programming; education and employment assistance; and skill development training in such areas as communication, parenting, anger management, and nutrition.
